Perdue farms talk about raising healthy chickens in a humane manner. One thing they advertise is an "all veggie diet". Left to their own devices, chickens are by nature omnivores. They forrage for bugs and worms and will even, given the opportunity, eat their own eggs. Feed those chickens some meat, let them outside and clean those chicken houses.
